The Retreat....a world-class spa

The Retreat, the spa at Aphrodite Hills, is not due to have its full official opening until 1st March 2005, yet it is already receiving accolades for the quality of its design, its facilities and the spa services available. In fact earlier this year, prestigious Homes Overseas magazine, voted the Retreat the third best resort spa in the world.

So, what's the secret? Set in Fragrant gardens with refreshing water features, a heated swimming pool and hydro pools overlooking the Mediterranean. The Retreat takes its architectural inspiration from the great baths of Ancient Greece and Rome. At the heart of the Spa, stone colonnades run around a central courtyard, creating an authentic location for the Thermae. This suite of progressively warmer rooms and pools, tempered by cooling showers and a frigidarium, recreates the classic Roman bathing ritual to detoxify the system, stimulate the circulation and refresh the body.

But not everything looks to the past. The studio and the gym are distinctly contemporary with the latest cardio and strength training equipment, specially trained gym instructors and personal trainers. The Retreat is also the first flagship European Spa for Pevonia Botanica natural skincare products where the brands will be used in beauty treatments and body therapies.

Additional facilities include relaxation areas and a juice bar serving fresh juices, smoothies, tonics and patisserie to provide essential hydration and nourishment during the spa experience.
