	Princess Anne pays a royal visit While the Olympic Athletes in Team GB were warming up at Aphrodite Hills before the Athens Games, they received a surprise royal visit from HRH Princess Anne. The Princess Royal made a flying visit to Cyprus and spent the day at Aphrodite Hills, viewing the facilities used by the Athletes in their pre-event training programmes and giving a welcome boost to morale before they left for Athens. To mark her visit, the Princess was presented with a symbolic gift of a medieval cross, a replica of the original unearthed during excavations on the Aphrodite Hills site.
